Capacitors are designed to compensate the inductive reactive current of
discharge lamps in 50/60 Hz networks when operated with electromagnetic ballasts. As required by utility companies, capacitors serve
to compensate the reactive current generated by the respective
ballast. A power factor of λ ≥ 0.9 is achieved.
In addition, capacitors can also be used to compensate or generate
phase displacements. Careful selection of the raw materials as well
as special thermal treatment of the capacitor coil guarantee a long service life and stable capacitance.
